Crashed in the North Sea above the Frisian Islands. |
P/O Gerry's body washed ashore on a very remote small Frisian Isle, named Rottumeroog (uninhabited sandbank). Only a few German soldiers there.
He did not wash ashore alone! A British Army search and enquiry unit exhumed the graves 1947 and reburied them in Oldebroek, which was their base at that time.
