Turned 180° back to land, after being hit and over the Lake, burning, trying to shake-off a German nightfighter. Crashed on the shore in a polder north-east of Elburg. Four men of the crew KIA and buried Oosterwolde. |
On the crashsite, the Germans disarmed 4 bombs. In 1980 another 2 bombs were found (250 lbs).
