F/Lt. Haggit washed ashore 5 weeks later on the beach at Zandvoort. On the 21st October he was buried in Amsterdam as unknown English airman, plot 85, grave 7.
In the post war identification process between March 13 1947 and September 18 1950, he was identified as F/Lt. C. E. C. Haggit.
His grave was re-numbered and has now code 85 - C - 5.
Ten days later, on the same beach at Zandvoort, washed ashore a unknown RAF airman. No rank. He was buried near Haggit in grave 85, grave 10.
He could never be identified and rests today as 'Known unto God' 31 October 1941.
