On return from Gelsenkirchen forced to ditch in the North Sea about 10 miles off Holland. All nine crew survived the ditching. In ice cold freezing nightly winter conditions for 12 hours, they reached the Dutch coast in two life rafts, POW. |
Their dinghy came a shore at a breakwater at IJmuiden, all POW.
