Dived deep into the soft ground. Location is a field grave. Zuidoostbeemster, road: Zuiderweg no. 41 (private). |
Today, the aircraft is still deep in the ground with the remains of Sgt. Dobb and Sgt. Pillans inside. It is a field grave marked by a simple memorial. Every year the crew is commemorated by the local community with a ceremony at the site.
The cross is not accessable for public. It is on the grounds of a farm. In the summer it is not visible from the road, only in winter, see underneath photos.
