Assumed shot dead in his cockpit by B-24 gunners. Flew into B-24D 41-23690 crew Cargile 44BG and severed the left wing and tail. Both aircraft went down under West-Terschelling and fell into the Wadden Sea (orange dot under island). |

Fritz Koch washed ashore just north of Harlingen on 7 April 1943. Today he rests in Ysselsteyn Plot AR, row 5, grave 103.
