This aircraft was never found back. Lost without trace. German nightfighter pilot Major Kurt Holler (1./NJG1) reported this night to have shot down a Wellington west of Urk at 02:55h. This is over Lake IJsselmeer. |

It is very uncommon that aircraft crash in the shallow Lake IJsselmeer (Old Zuyder Sea) without leaving any trace of aircraft and/or its five men crew.
We estimate chance this aircraft went down over the North Sea 70% and over Lake IJsselmeer 30%. Because of the accurate German claim, we position this aircraft in the Lake, area Val van Urk.
