VEENHUIZEN (HEERHUGOWAARD)
Veenhuizen is an old hamlet, north-east and part of Heerhugowaard, west of Opmeer. The church has been broken down, only the small cemetery, the bell tower and a commemorative building for the former count of this region remain. Since the 2nd of July 1940, the Blenheim crew of Squadron leader H.F. Chester (82 Sqn) rest here. The location is quiet, remote and hard to find.
